To be absolutely clear:-
Are you a British citizen resident in France or a French citizen resident in UK?

We used Degiro whilst in Sweden.
Cheap basic and no issues. For us index tracking etfs

We lived in France for 15 years I presume you are a French tax resident, have you looked around 'Assurance Vie' offers for long tern tax efficiency.
We found most to be expensive and limited in choice.

Good luck

We were further south near Pleyben nice part of the world

We tried the usual suspects who all demanded UK address and were not helpful.
As mentioned try
https://www.degiro.fr/

Worth a ring, not sure about IT's outside FTSE 100.
You might be able to purchase via phone broking service.
As I recall they were quite expensive on foreign currency dividend payments.

gordon: I lived in Belgium pre-Maastricht, so am bound to be out of date. But try banks/brokers in Channel Isles or Luxembourg, they were always flexible. Ireland might be worth a try.
