I am watching the proceedings live on BBC 24 Hour News.

The chairman has constantly interrupted Adair Turner and not allowed him to say what he needed. He appears to be putting words in the witness' mouth.

The other questioners are much better at listening and fact finding rather than trying to push their own preconceptions.

The whole exercise is asking about events four and five years ago so it is amazing that, aside from minuted meetings, anyone remembers anything.

Not impressed by the Committee's questioning at all. Watched an hour of Del Missier, who was good in the face of some bullying & lot's of loose language - members shouldn't really be saying things like "fiddling". Also where is the BBA, who were actually responsible [alone] for LIBOR... Retrospectively they didn't do their job, and that will change, but at the time US authorities et al were in touch with the BBA... CRD

The BBA was created in quieter times before 21stC financial probs & the growth of complex derivatives & swaps that LIBOR/EURIBOR were later used to price.. There weren't the same pressures to "fiddle" it then. No-one bothered that LIBOR etc were based on perhaps-phony estimates till too late. CRD
