My wife nearly fell for a telephone scam today.
Phone call purported to be from Norton advising her that they needed to refund her a 3 yr subscription amount worth £175 as they had inadvertently taken it twice from her account last year
As she has recently changed banks she couldn't easily check with the 'old' bank.
They asked for her card details.
Fortunately after giving the long card number and expiry date she became nervous and asked me.
I told her it was likely to be a scam, but would check the phone number whilst she held the guy on the line.
The line then went dead.
Phone number 03331012xxx (can't remember the last 3 digits).
Tried to report it to the action fraud line, but it was 'down for upgrade/repairs' 😮
Waiting time on the phone was over 10 mins.
Thanks to Bob2 for putting th e mail version up here too.
Take care
