A TV license scam email informing you of a 'direct debit cancellation notice' and claims your TV Licence 'could not be automatically renewed' due to something 'going wrong' with your payments.1 Feb 2023
me bob I received one today and reported it then deleted it and blocked the sender.

I've never paid the British Brainwashing Corporation a cent. Nor will I ever.

For 25 years the little brown envelopes have landed on the mat about every two weeks.

All kinds of threats. "We know you haven't got one... We're coming round next week...", etc., etc.

Yawn...

How can those who actually pay for their own brainwashing be so dim, so spineless, so abject?

" TV license scam " ...yes , the TV license is a scam . There`s hardly anything worth watching on the Beeb now . £ 5 / month would be a more sensible fee .

I think the reason people pay the British bigot corporation is because they don't want a criminal conviction and a huge fine.
Personally I am happy to use the British Bigot corporation free (to me) television programmes.
At this point in time I can't remember the last time I switched the telly on but I am happy to use the app occasionally.
They called round once I was splitting some wood with a wood maul. They stayed at the bottom of the drive and said "I see the properties empty so I won't bother you ".
I wasn't sure if I was being insulted but I let it go.

You can tell them you don’t need a licence and they’ll leave you alone for a few years - I can’t remember how many - but they will send you another letter at the end of the period.
