I suspect you know more about the art of investment compared with when you started. Clearly you do hence your page on the forum.
Life doesn’t depend on one word but hopefully this reply is helpful.
Thank you for the reply, I'm going to conclude that in your mind you have an edge as a private investor with your FIFO strategy. My simple contention is that you can't know this if you don't calculate your performance and compare it to a global equity tracker.
Don't take it to heart - no-one on these forums has ever evidenced an edge. I'm not saying no-one has one, I'm saying it hasn't been evidenced. I think it's an important point to make to those that have a tendency to follow the call of the piper.
Yes, I'm learning a lot from my investment journey thank you. Mostly around financial planning, setting objectives and monitoring my progress. That may well be my forte - win by not losing.
I had a go with a portfolio of individual stocks with 10% of my investment pot and documented this on the HT thread. It's beaten VWRL since launch but I have no edge and so I am gradually winding that experiment down by selling the stocks at opportune moments. I will keep some.
Wave Action - please try and summarise your results and compare to an appropriate benchmark. A selection of charts would be better than links to things which tell us nothing. I'm happy to help, it's nice to see someone having a go.
Embrace the challenge. I'm coming up to 10 years on this forum and I reckon there will have been posts from over 1,000 people in that time. Not one poster has ever evidenced an edge, go for it !!!
