Hello
Does anyone have any experience with / recommendations for tax return software to assist in submitting UK self assessment?

I'm retired so only need to submit dividend, interest and CGT from share/fund sales.. but have to pull info from general investment accounts that are non tax sheltered across 3 different platforms . All seem to provided basic tax statements with dividends and interest but no CGT data for any sales made

I have seen TaxCalc mentioned on the forum a few times, there's another one called GoSimpleTax that looks similar

Thanks in advance for any pointers

Used gosimpletax for many years and no complaints. Very good but I cant compare it to anything else unfortunately.

Portfolio data you'll need to maintain yourself. Easy enough to do on a spreadsheet. As the raw data can be exported in CSV format. Then refined.

I've used this a few times, both to check my home-brew calculations and now as a standalone calculator.

http://www.cgtcalculator.com/

It's been around for over a decade and has some good reviews.

Of course you do need to know what you bought and sold the shares for. You do keep records, right? (^_-)

Tip:
play around with the examples in http://www.cgtcalculator.com/ first so you understand its data format.

Then use a spreadsheet/Google sheets to format your own data in the required manner.

Once happy you know what you're doing, copy and paste your data from the spreadsheet into http://www.cgtcalculator.com/ and give it a whirl.

Don't just start by entering your precious data into the online calculator. A fat finger can delete the lot !
Start as you mean to go on, with a spreadsheet.
