S&P 500 has a mild recovery, but the Forex is also up on GBP/USD strength so its a very mild if not nought gain for UK Investors unhedged. (Which also cushioned the fall on the reverse yesterday)

Something blah blah, the daily movements.
Just wait it out, I think this forum is going to be really fun when Trump X's posts send markets soaring and then falling like a roller coaster. I remember those days very clearly still!

I could not wish for a better present than Novo Nordisk on discount for Christmas.

They getting hammered with the failed weight loss drug trial. Eli Lily is up, presumably because they will just take market share away from Novo. Interesting area, makes a change from the AI hype.

Fundsmith has a large stake in Novo and has for years, and I suspect they would think this is a good buying opportunity also.

The trial has not failed, just not reaching some ambiguous number. Eli Lily already has the better drug in that regard, but many patients and doctors seem to prefer Ozempic, as it has less pronounced side-effects. I am sure that more competitors will appear too, but I think that there are some great people and great history of innovation behind Novo Nordisk. They also have the scale and production capacity to deliver to market, something that most competitors dont. And I have learned to appreciate the corporate culture around the Novo Nordisk Foundation(its the biggest charitable foundation). I mean its not just the pharma, they are also behind Novozymes(now Novonesis), which is working on plastics eating bacteria and enzymes. This is some good stuff, so I think this falling knife is worth catching.

Seems like Eli Lily still has the larger market shares though? And the recent data means Eli Lily will be seen as superior?

I also understand that Novo have patents expiring in the medium term that corresponds to over half of revenues?

Pharma investing is tricky. Incredibly risky but has been rewarding for the lucky few.
