For my kids I have gone:
Mid Wynd
AVI Global
Fidelity Special Values
Harbourvest
I feel that gives a reasonable mix for now given where everything is set, and that the US seems quite expensive, and that having a decent bit of exposure to private markets is important. Over 30 years something like AVI has handily outperformed a world tracker in quite a variety of conditions.
Appreciate that this lot might underperform a world tracker if you just leave it completely for say 30 years, but equally I think there are reasons why it might do quite well. In any event, I also don't think it will do abysmally even if it underperforms the world tracker. As someone said earlier, it's important to do something, and so when the kids come to cash it in, there should hopefully be a respectable sum knocking around.
