Also, you might notice that, despite all the information available to it, it hasn't yet become an Islamic fundamentalist or hard right ideologue - it just happens to have the moral belief system of a woke, technocratic, corporate drone. Because that is what it has been given as its moral code by the people who designed it. Just like the people who designed it :)
Some examples of the inconsistent ways that chatGPT appears to "think" about ethnicity and culture. Evidence, perhaps, of how a seemingly objective and scientific information gathering tool can be used for the purposes of propaganda.

^^ Thanks for posting this. That is an interesting investigation.
What I am seeing is that, rather than communicate in an objective and scientific fashion, it comes across more like a politician. It has its core, subjective beliefs which cannot be challenged and it actually starts bullshitting when pressed in order to maintain two incompatible positions. The first: its basic prejudices, and the second: the goal of appearing truthful and objective. Then, as you show, goes back to the beginning again later.
It is quite similar to the average person in the way it will try to hold two contradictory positions, delude itself, lie, and then go back to built in prejudices later. We already have billions of people doing that - do we really need an electronic version?
And this will all be a possibe issue for its scientific potential - if it will be hamstrung by political correctness. Unless they will have more objective and 'honest' varieties beavering away in the background. Perhaps that is what we need... people to release other versions that are not woke. But then again, won't it just be the same confirmation bias we already have...? or, one side being mostly wrong and not caring what anybody else or their AIs think? Climate emergency springs to mind...
When all is said and done, it is a clever tool but may not ever be able to rise above existing limitations. Meaning it doesn't change anything that is of any substance.
