That seems to have happened a lot recently. US Futures are in the green, but barely. Session opens and panic, despair, or perhaps ambivalence set in.

It's OK - he just bought a Tesla, so everything will be fine ;).

There were a couple of adverts on the TV many years ago. One use to say "The future's bright, the future's orange", and the other use to ask "Have you been Tangoed".
I think it's fair to say that most of us have now...

Seems that most members would have preferred Biden or Harris.

Not really. Questioning some aspects of Trump's policies, or not enjoying their effects does not equate to a preference for his opponents. Biden was a non-starter, and Harris turned out to be a terrible candidate for the Democrats IMO. Personally I'm reserving judgement. But it's fair to say I'm not a fan of tariffs or alienating / abandoning allies and neighbours, while cosying up to our enemies, so I hope that phase of the plan comes to an end soon.

Yep, S&P 500 today opened around 1% up... and now just dipped into the red.

Over a real candidate? No. Over Trump? Yes.

Biden's management of the economy and fiscal policies left the incoming adminstration with major problems on the horizon. Trump's policies were spelt out a long time back. Seems people didn't expect him to do what he said he would. More focussed on the value of their portfolio's and the belief they would keep on rising.

Plan?

I have just been listening to him patronising the Irish PM. Apparently Ireland stole the US industrial base. the Donald didn't seem to notice that Ireland is merely a tax shelter it isn't manufacturing anything for Apple.

Also The EU had fined Americas great companies. he seemed not to notice they were fined for breaking the law.

The last key takeaway was the US Dept of Education was filled with people who got paid but never went to work and had other jobs so were stealing money from the Federal Govt. Education will be managed in future by the states. That will be interesting as some of the states are more interested in the role of God than in educating anyone and my experience of local education provision in Florida was that it was laughable.
