Why would Trump be buying BTC with Dolars rather than paying down that National Debt e's always banging on about?

No... wait... is it because he's clueless...?

Trump won't be buying in dollars - the Executive Order makes that clear.

Bitcoin Bonds could help pay down the National Debt.

Huh? What kind of cockamanie over-leveraged maddness is that.

Quote:

Here’s how it works: The U.S. Treasury auctions $100 billion worth of 10-year Bitcoin bonds. Of that, 1% ($1 billion) is used to buy Bitcoin.

If Bitcoin’s price is $100,000 at the time, that $1 billion would buy 10,000 Bitcoin. After 10 years, the bondholder would receive both the Bitcoin and the bond’s face value.

The treasury gets $100 billion but only buys $1 billion of bitcoin??

Why would you buy a Bitcoin Bond and not just...I dunno....buy the actual bitcoins? And get 100% of the gain/loss rather than some fractional amount.

What possible advantage does that give the punter? I literally don't get it.

But I'm sure equally challenged MAGA's will buy because Trump.

Surely to god people will spot the slight issue in this....?

In other news , NK Hackers steal $1 billion Etherium from ByBit.

Loved by despots and dictators everywhere...

It's complex, but interesting nonetheless...
