Anyone given any thoughts to buying fixed income specifically UK gilts before or after the Spring statement (26th March) and this weeks BoE rate decision? I'm tempted to switch some MMFs into something like VGVA tomorrow.

Respectfully, I think trying to forecast the outcomes of future political uncertainties is fraught with danger. It’s not something I would advocate and it’s certainly not something I will do next week or in the future.

Looking ahead, I do not believe this market volatility has ceased. All we’ve had so far is a lot of verbals, which the market has reacted to.

The actual impact of these verbals / tariffs have yet to land any measurable punch 🥊. As in a metric rather than a forecast.

Yeah all good points, Rob - thanks. I also think this is only the beginning of a very volatile year. I was just trying to gauge if it’s wise or not to buy more of an intermediate gilt fund. I think it’s yielding around 4.5% which is still quite respectable given all else.
