Large share price drop today mainly on news of the Zantac litigation issue.
What action if any are any holders taking ?

Hi Newbie,
I added a little this morning on the 10% drop, I was thinking of adding anyway so this was a good opportunity. I have no idea of the where the zantac case will go though!

My gut is telling this is much better than NG as this Zantac lawsuits is a known issue. The numbers are big though... the cost could be $30bn (£24bn) but this is a cheap defensive company at £66.73bn. Net debt only 13bn and when you add that, it's still better value than other defensive pharmaceuticals.

Like NG... the downward momentum may catch you out and I will only look to buy at about 1500p (200-day average) and if it does not get there no worries.

No action...bought in at 1320 /1420, so if it drops back to those levels will top-up
I am sure Tony will have an opinion on this one.

I have a large holding, had it for years long before Walmsley took control. She is useless, she has destroyed the value which her predecessors built up by selling off the OTC business which was used to help fund future research. .Her handling of the Zantac affair is typical, she has tried to cover it up by picking off individual claimants like a Ukrainian sniper, her way the affair will roll on for years long after she has gone, which is probably her plan.
Compared to AZ the investment is poor.
Early this morning at the start of play the share price was up and I was sat in bed with a brew and contemplating selling a few shares, by the time I had finished my nosebag and wound up the old desktop, the price had tanked, decided to wait for another day.

For me still a happy hold. I'll add under 1400.

Not at all worried by the Zantac litigation. Correlation does not imply causality.

People with painful gut and undiagnosed cancers are very likely to self medicate with a heartburn OTC remedies.

Added more to NG ahead of xd day with profit slice from MKS at 309. Will get the divvies from both next month.

Interestingly MKS actually went up on xd day (an unusual event) so it would have been a mistake to have sold the slice ahead of it.

For those who missed an episode of this continuing saga ,GSK have already settled a case by paying off a Californian man, their reason for the settlement " to avoid distraction related to protracted litigation in this case" (lawyer talk)
They then go on to say .... " they do not admit liability" if that is true, why pay?

Update.
Today Morningstar are holding firm to GSK's fair value estimate of £22/share.
A 4 star rating, they believe GSK is likely to be successful in its appeal process.

Back in the news again. Share price down nearly 5%
This time it's for the US CDC narrowing the recommendation for the use of Respiratory Syncytial Virus vaccine (Arexvy) in older adults and held off on recommending their use for adults under 60. Moderna have a similar drug and their share price as fallen more than 5%
Arexvy sales bring in £1.2 billion for GSK

Forum attention and allocation has probably been towards the drop at LGEN and NG... While GSK now trades at historically low. A case of too many other opertunities in the FTSE100??
