Same. Ever since Nick Train mentioned it as having potential many years ago I have kept an eye on it.

Good to see they have reduced their Black T-Shirt with "Burberry" written on it from £350.33 to £306.56! That puts me off more than anything!

Had been on radar for a while now with a lot of erm and arr
Decided to take a punt on today's downfall with an initial £5k (plan to add another £5k if goes down further by a significant amount today).
Still not decided if it is a long term position.
Today's buy is a trading play.

Burberry have a habit of going up and then down again on a fairly regular basis. They often lose their way and unlike LVMH, tank.

Take a look at the 10 year performance of both to get a bit of an insight.

I did buy last time and sold them on the up. However, no cash at the moment otherwise I would be in for a trading punt.

Quite agree with you. However most people that buy brands and logo's are on a different planet to me.
Primani for me, every time. Black t shirt £2.50, black polo £4!!

I'm off to Primani.
DIdn't even consider Burberry apparel and now I know - will not either.

Then again I have been advised not invest in places where you would go on holiday, not to buy companies whose products you would buy and not to part monies on the promise of great riches. This has worked well with the like of investing in China, Russia, Korea etc, and companies like Tesla, Facebook, Renewables etc, and staying away from things like NFT etc. That is not to say that I have not made mistakes in my investing decisions - I have made some howlers over the years so 2 out of 3 is not bad.

In terms brands I do like my watches and some of them I classify as investments - Breguet, Patek, Jaeger, Breitling, though not a fan of Rolex which I rightly or wrongly compare to a Seiko which I feel is better value (probably biased because my late father had one and kept going on about how good it was).

I worked there as a consultant during the Angela and Christopher days. Interesting times, people wearing ties and suits were getting less, converse and tight jeans was in.

Staff parties had Top 10 indie bands playing in the new office in Horseferry road. The Fratellis spring to mind

Nightmare for wifi as the new windows revived the old brand of Crittal (due to the amount of money spent on the refurb), and because of the atrium inadvertently created a Faraday Cage

Money was being thrown around like confetti and the staff canteen was a restaurant with views over the sneaky beakys at Thames House, even the pencils were branded with a black, black, black (no white wood)

We even installed ipads when they first came out to show interactive graphs (thanks RoamBI) of stores revenue, and when this was shown at the first managers conference, a bit embarrassing as the highest revenue earner was the outlet store

Loved working there, got on really well with the security staff at the old Haymarket site (where Planet Hollywood is), they let me park for free on Saturdays downstairs in the underground parking.

Staff discounts on end of season sales was outstanding, my wife has 3k plus coat for £150, and no it’s not that chav check thing, it’s the catwalk brand

As a recent retiree I still look back at all the companies I have worked with and there are loads, BP, Shell, BAT, LEGO, News Corp and all the subsidiaries including Fox Sky and all the newspapers , Alcatel, Premier Foods, TNT, SAB Miller, Philip Morris, Brown Forman, Burger King and MacD, Barclays, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Unilever even Kylie Jenner (sold her business for billions) and loads loads more in fact I struggle to find one I haven’t worked with, I wished I kept the id cards

Are you still a holder?
Topping up?
...or have you jumped ship?
