I think you are muddling up provider I.E Sipp Trustee, I use D.A.Phillips as my SIPP provider and Selftrade for the sharedealing element of the SIPP. D.A.Phillips 01580767711 in Tenterden Kent are absolutely first class, Selftrade are reasonable and efficient at dealing but sloppy at keeping records.

SippdealExtra are worth a look as they will support a number of share dealing providers, such as Barclays and Selftrade.

Take a look at ALliance Trust Savings too. Low cost dealing etc. Admin a bit inefficient but always helpful.

I also found Hargreaves Lansdowne to be restrictive in terms of the assets one could hold.
So my SIPP is with Alliance Trust who permit me to hold Greengold land in Argentina which is yielding me over 15% net.

Thank you for your comments David,
I really do not want to restrict my SIPP investments to the UK market. In fact, I do not see that much value in UK companies.

I invested just under £50,000 in the USA and Canada in 2008 and have seen an average growth of approximately 35% but in addition these shares are producing a dividend income of about £6,000 per year. Since then I have invested a further £60,000 which has increased by 10% and is producing a further dividend income of £5,500 so I do not want to sell these shares.

I am very interested to hear that TD Waterhouse have re-launched their SIPP. I think I will give them a call because the service they have provided on my trading account has been excellent.

Please be advised that you can invest in the USA and Canada however the stock must settle via CREST in order to be held in our SIPP.

You can check CREST settlement via www.euroclear.co.uk or by calling the Sippdeal Dealing Services Team on 0845 373 3479.

It may be possible to obtain a live quote in GBP between 14:30 and 16:30. However, we are reliant on an online price being available to ourselves.

Please note that all trades are in GBP and limit orders are not permitted.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Yours sincerely
