The answer to your question is probably yes - and a bit of shopping around with the fund supermarkets. TD Waterhouse has no annual fee for its stock and shares ISA. Research Selftrade and Sharecentre - they may be possibilities too?

Personally, I like interactive investor (www.iii.co.uk), no annual fees for the ISA, low share dealing fees and no fees for dealing funds.

Try Royal Bank of Scotland Direct Trader. There are no ISA management fees.

You could also have a look at iii whose ISAs are operated by Halifax. No annual charge and £10 dealing charge. There is also a cash bonus offer at present if you transfer your ISA from another provider of up to £100.

I use the service provided by Alliance Trust. Execution only and no costs except the dealing cost.

Having done extensive research in this area I would recommend Interactive Investor (iii.co.uk) for the following reasons: no ISA admin cost, automatic dividend re-investment on all UK shares - which is not offered by many of the competitors, cheap dealing costs, cash back on ISA transfer, very good/helpful customer service (UK based).
