BTL mortgage arrangement fees tax deductible?

Are the mortgage arrangement fees fully tax deductible?

Seems to me this a major way around the restriction of mortgage interest relief, big fat arrangement fee paid in advance in exchange for a lower interest rate...

Only to the same extent as mortgage interest is I believe

I think it should be recorded as 'Legal, Management and Professional Fees', in the tax return for the same tax year as your renewal (not spread over however many years until the next renwal).

Were you asking because you're a higher rate taxpayer and wondering about getting full relief?
