Previously, on the Home Page there would be a list of Forum topics lower down the page, and then again on the News page. Now the list only appears on the News page. I think the list on the News page used to be lower down, but I won't swear to that.

Presumably it's an editorial decision, but I don't think it detracts in any way, and the link at the top of the Home page works fine, as others have pointed out.

Thanks Sara, I didn't know they were always on the News page also, I only knew they had disappeared from the home page. I can live with the change however now I know.

Didn't notice anything different on Mac/Sierra/Chrome. Looks like Tim's page.

I usually have this, with my trustnet graphs, weather and mail, as the first pages when I fire-up in the morning. I don't go through "home".

Forums appears to have gone missing yet again. It is no longer on the Home, News, Features or Comments pages and can only be accessed via the Forums page. Yes, I know they're still there but I don't find this format as good. Anyone else unhappy with this or is it just me?

It isn't just you, I only look at the summary list and I also see that it's gone this week. It's also gone from the weekly email summary.

Yes this looks like a permanent change, presumably for editorial reasons.

I did wonder if part of the reason might be that some of the thread titles are not in keeping with the image that CW wants to present, and may be suggestive of opinions that a casual reader might wrongly associate with CW itself rather than posters. (The recent 'Some of us must die' thread springs to mind - I winced every time I saw that on the News page.) If so, I can understand their position.

There is no moderation of comments (unless someone reports it) so it's always a risk that something might impact on their reputation, especially where discussions descend into pointless arguments or insults. I think we're really lucky that the forums exist and it is our responsibility as posters to ensure that content is appropriate, respectful and on topic, or we risk losing them altogether. The same applies to comments below articles.

You could well be right Sara and I agree we are indeed fortunate to have the forums as they are by far the best out there. I'll just have to get used to the change and continue to enjoy the contributions made by everyone.

That may well be the reason, but it's slightly ironic given that the comments on news items are generally a lot more incendiary than the forums - look under anything that mentions HL or Woodford! Although I did notice this week that a couple of items about legal cases had comments disabled. Really all we need is a more sensible way of looking for recent forum posts - perhaps it is possible, I've never really explored the options.

I agree, its very inconvenient ! ......I would very much like to have things back how they were, accessing via the forums button is really nothing like as easy and comfortable
