My wife has commited adultary and has a substantial amount of money in the building society, will i be entitled to half of everything she owns. including a half ownership of a bungalow with her sister,
as i want to get on with my life the only option is divorce. so looking what is only fair to me after 20 years marriage and 28 years of being together. regards paul

You have got to include your pensions too and all your assets.

Depends if you have children.

if you have been married for such a lengthy time as you have then a 50/50 split is likely.

It is likely that your wife will want to keep the property she has with her sister, if say you have no asssts other than your house you may be entitled to a bigger share of the matrimonial home to compensate you for not getting part of the propertyyour wife owns with her sister

You must engage a good lawyer to protect your interests in divorce, especially if you are the husband. That does not mean the most expensive, rather the most experienced, knowledgable, diplomatic and intuitive.
Try to keep the matrimonial home if possible, and in your situation you should aim to keep at least 55% of assets. Without knowing if you have children it is not possible to give a more detailed answer, except to repeat you need a good lawyer or you will lose out substantially.

Additionally, however hard and whatever it takes, maintain a good working unemotional relationship, ..............otherwise the lawyers will benefit more than you.
