I like internet banking.

I have to approve, on my phone, all non-DD payments over £50. I have had fraud issues but I knew it was happening in seconds and have been able to decline payments in real time.

It's no wonder those illegals are paddling like fury to cross the Channel.
Yesterday I received a letter informing me my WFP is now £350 because of a one-off payment called Cost of Living Crisis. Mrs. E. will get £250, this along with the £400 we have been given to help with the fuel bill plus £10 Christmas Bonus, all the above have been given without having to make a claim.
What a wonderful country. I have to wonder how much the BAD BACK Brigade now receive.
They fall out of bed around mid-day, go to the local supermarket to help themselves because they know if they nick less than £200, they won't prosecute or trundle along to their favourite food bank.
Then off to the bookies to place their bet, then to the pub for a couple of beers and maybe a game of snooker or darts.
After an exhausting day, back home flop in the chair and watch the telly, of course they have no licence because only an idiot will pay £159 when they know if they are caught the local Magistrate will only fine them £25 which they will then claim poverty and pay a £1 a month.
My money which I don't want will go to my local Blind Society so the boys and girls can have a good Christmas thanks to our generous government.
This country is well and truly -ucked.
God save the King.

Have you noticed that most people who use food banks are grossly overweight?

Absolutely nothing to do with the title of the thread then.

Apologies in advance if I've misinterpreted your comment, but if you mean it the way it appears to read, I really urge you to think this through a little more.

What do you think causes weight issues? Obviously there are multiple causes - but one widely acknowledged and evidenced one is poor quality food - ie cheap food.

it\s easy to be thin when you have time and money to shop and cook healthily. If you're juggling multiple zero hours contracts, moving between them on public transport because you can't afford a car, trying to combine all that with child care or school pick ups etc - then you don't necessarily have time - or resources - to prep and cook the kind of food that keeps you slender.

There will always be people who abuse the system; I strongly believe in work ethic and self help, but there are an awful lot of people out there seriously struggling to cope in ways you don't seem to be able to imagine. Very few people step through the embarassment of using a food bank unless they have to.

Headline - Regulator PLANS to fine Barclays £50m over conduct of 2008 crisis.
Small print - Barclays has referred the matter to a tribunal

You simply cannot make this stuff.
Event took part in 2008
The key players have moved on and amongst them pocketed well over £50m
The shareholders have pocketed huge gains - I personally know 1 FM who made an absolute packet buying at 64 pence a share.
The bank, unlike its counterparts - Lloyds, RBS etc did not dump the liability or responsibility on the public.
However the regulator who is essentially funded by the public is now making sure that the general public not only, foots the bill for their existence, offices, perks etc etc but also for the shambles which they failed to regulate.
It brings a whole new meaning to the words, Horse, Bolted, Stable door etc.
So can someone explain how the bank is the bad guy here.

Went to register a Power of Attorney with Barclays. The next appointment to see an advisor is Feb 23!
