I know there is at least one other person here in TSLA. My own position is now my largest hold having ‘bought the dip’ yesterday and earlier this month. My cost basis is somewhere around 320 (haven’t calculated after yesterday’s buy).

Curious to hear opinions from other holders as to your thoughts. In all honesty the position has got away from me a bit, I’ve been down as much as 20pc on it but bought dips heavily twice to take me to -8pc. It tends to trade between 290-360 fairly reliably so i’m not too worried, but curious as to other holder’s situations (and all other opinions of course)

You are a brave man.

I don't see the attraction now that there are so many players in the market

I sold out completely last week, having ‘bought the dip’ twice, at the expense of my Apple position. I must update my concentrated portfolio thread sometime, but suffice to say this stock was a mistake for multiple reasons!

We all have them :(

i really don't know where it is going to go. The cars are OK my friend has one but getting parts and service is a disaster which i think will damage sales.

I might buy a car online but only after I have been to the dealers, had extended test drives etc etc. Not sure how it works when they don't have a proper dealer network

I’ve been tempted to buy back into Tesla, but have resolved to do nothing for a few months. No new money available in any case at present, and for me would be pure speculation/FOMO...this stock seemingly does what it wants.

This will pop 20pc any day soon for no real reason and I’ll be annoyed I didn’t dare grab some under $200.

Or go to zero.

The news by Ford and GM may pay off.
Stock on the move again.
If indeed the TSLA charging model becomes the standard (Blink seems positive), then the licensing and usage fee should provide a regular income stream and the company adds another bow to their arsenal of Cars and Batteries.

Its up around 8% at the moment today, still no where near its all time high but has being doing very well over the last few months.

I have to admit I assumed that once the legacy auto makers (Ford, GM VW etc) finally swung into gear with regard to EV manufacture Tesla would be swept away but this does not seem to be the case. It would appear that making electric cars profitably is a lot more difficult than some of these older manufacturers thought, almost all if not all of them are loosing money on every EV they make. Tesla and I think BYD over in China seem to be the only companies that can make any money doing it.

What are peoples thoughts?

Tesla have first mover advantage. About three years ago I overheard a few young lads talking about cars, they all wanted Teslas. If I were to buy an EV, it would be a Tesla, it's a 21st century vehicle, Ford's are 20th, Mercs are 19th!
