Bloomberg not CNBC ..... useful from 11am our time through to open / as much of it as you can stand, but they run good guests, one of which has been banging the "not transitory" drum for a good six months at least (Mohamad Al Alerion).

They aslso have a decent round up at their close, 9pm UK time.

But for a quick view of what sectors are up & down, and individual stock movers, Finviz maps here;

https://finviz.com/map.ashx

If you've got TradingView, you can see pre market price moves too, which can be a good steer.

Yes - Berkshire continued its new year rally yesterday whilst NASDAQ got crunched...

Zerohedge often has a good daily summary / some informative articles - but there is also a number of more conspiracy theory articles that I tend to ignore...

I have twitter with a number of business / markets commentators

eg this morning saw

Yields moved higher today, consistent with the content of the #Fed minutes with respect to both rate hikes and balance sheet reduction.
The recent move in the 2-year yield is particularly notable, highlighting the degree to which #markets are adjusting to the #inflation outlook.

SMT down -4.15% on open and it’s only 0845. What a bitter start to the day.

As usual, the BG stable will suffer in larger drops. The issue from last year is they hard recovered over the course of 12 months (which isn't overly short term if it spills into 2 years worth of performance).

Yay, I love the January sales. Funny how quickly the optimism of the first trading day crumbled. Taking the chance to deploy the excess cash.

On a day my pf is in complete meltdown I get the fantastic news that my PSA levels remain at undetectable levels 5 years after surgery for prostate cancer. I am discharged. Who cares about the markets?

Not a vintage day for Discussions.

Can someone please come up with a thread idea that is worth discussing. Rather than just a lot of angst sharing.
