There's 14 people here, admittedly with a vested interest in attracting new funds, but they seem overwhelming in favour of continued asset price appreciation. I was surprised at the consistency of message.

So now may just be the time make that move. Or may not of course.

No-one invests in this sort of thing expecting a smooth ride though, surely?

Ecofin Global Util has unsurprising held up with one of the very few holdings not in red over a 3 month return period.

L&G Global 100 up 7.5% in the last 3 months (as of mid-afternoon today). 75% of our holdings positive over the same period.

Just wondering ....

Exactly.
We are told time and time again that investments can go down as well as up.
It is a risk investors voluntarily agree to take when they buy.
And if they don't understand that, they should not be be investing in the first place.
We are going through a sticky patch at the moment (I am not even going to look), but in relation to long term investing, I don't feel that anything has actually changed.

Yes. I've sat on cash so many times. Bought the 2020 dip but only a dabble. Tried to be bolder this time. Down a few percent but will average down.

Same here. Lesson learnt from sitting on too much cash in 2021. I went into 2022 light on equity and have been buying the index today. Will buy more on further drops.

The reason for the excitement and I guess that the IT drop is actually NAV led is that something has changed
Goldmans are forecasting 4 rate rises this year.

After rates dropping fairly consistently for the last 15 years it looks like the tide may have turned. I would take the view that the reaction is a bit overdone but, the story is changing.

Tim

Everyone expects bumps. 370==>297 in a few days is quite a bump especially when it is NAV led.

It has been a long time, in fact beyond my memory, when my portfolio has been so split between thumping losses and wild gains.

probably a good time to invest in IG Holding they must be making a fortune as the majority of their clients have been on the wrong side of the trade again :)

Any one know why Rathbone Global Opps is down 8%, and Mid Wynd about 6%
Is it the Pound and the tech sell off?

Thanks
