Thanks for the link. As ever, a straight shooter and very articulate. As a communicator, I find it's a night-and-day difference between him and Nick Train.
The only problem is that every time I listen to him, I want to put more money into FS.
Agreed on both counts though I have plenty across Fundsmith & Smithson already.
Definitely worth a watch.

After sounding a skeptical note about the performance of Fundsmith the other day, it was good to see the way it held up on Friday (only down 0.5%) Still a good defensive holding.

Guessing tomorrow won't be pleasant though as with most funds as I think they'll only reflect Friday pricing tomorrow.

Fundsmith usually uses US premarket quotes as part of its daily pricing calculation.

Precisely my point. It is not normal for a somewhat diversified pool of securities to be up 40% over 1Y and 180% over 2Y.
SMT's performance is, quite frankly, insane.

Honestly speaking, this is about as high octane as I tend to get these days!
Are you still keen on GAM Star Disruptive Growth? I'm eyeing that as a potential switch for a satellite holding I have in BG Pacific. The latter's done well, but am souring on EMs a bit.

Dan L - unfortunately today's price reflects Friday's falls - down by 1.5%.
It always takes a full day!
Still - it should rise tomorrow.

Yes I think its hard to say and probably doesn't really matter anyway. The US premarket was down quite a bit but then it accelerated. Maybe they only use that kind of pricing when there is an extreme move either way for a single stock but not a general market decline. That 1.5% doesn't feel like quite enough of a drop when many of the top holdings were between 2-3% down.
Anyway, it all comes out in the wash.

Fundsmith price has been dragged down even before Friday because of underlying drops in Paypal from what I can see.
But perhaps Mr Smith just sees that as short term noise and not a reason to reduce the stake.
I wont sell FS for now but instead I have topped up new money into L+G Global Tech which is performing better.
