And from the salivating oak bloke!!

Shareholders need to accept this is DEC Modus operandi. IE likely more to come. Small ones like this look good to me but no doubt Rusty will go big if he thinks WE can afford it.

This is a nice, punchy interview, although dating from just before the US Election. Probably the most concise explanation I’ve read re the hedging philosophy. But lots more in there besides, and other than the election result, not much has changed since. A good read for anyone with DEC on their watchlist perhaps?

His election predictions were a hell of a lot more accurate than the polsters!

I just read the monthly update from NCYF, which I hold in my SIPP. Didn’t even know they were a holder! Among a load of doom and gloom about the UK economy it said:

“For the Company, the holding of Domestic and General 9.25% was refinanced into a 8 1/8% coupon. We rolled the majority of the holding into the new bond and invested the remainder in a new issue from Newcastle Building Society 14% perpetual to make up for the shortfall in income. We also participated in a new US dollar issue from Priority 1, an Irish logistics business, with a 12 5/8% coupon and a 3-year maturity. We continued to downsize the Company's holdings in the equities of Diversified Energy and Croma Group.“

Swines.

"franco" is a grumpy old bugger and should never be allowed to present anything to anyone.
I prefer BIPS to NCYF.

Never a dull moment with ole Rusty? Today, just an acquisition which doubles the size of the company. Market probably not gonna like this, I’m not gonna lie to you Bryn.

Too long to paste here but here’s an AI (topical) summary:

Diversified Energy has announced its acquisition of Maverick Natural Resources for approximately $1.275 billion. This deal is expected to boost Diversified's revenue by 95%, enhance margins, and increase free cash flow by 55%. The acquisition will create a combined entity valued at about $3.8 billion with significant production capability across multiple regions. Diversified aims to leverage Maverick's assets to maximize cash flow and operational synergies while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability. The transaction is set to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory and shareholder approvals.

Wrong!! Up 3.5%
My guess is there's been a turnover in shareholders. The majority are now supportive of Rusty's takeover of the US oil and gas....all of it!!
Not all debt, issued the seller with a lot of shares. Will need to check when the lock-in ends.

" We plan to leverage Maverick's experienced technical asset development team to unlock undeveloped acreage potential through an even larger combined footprint"
