This is somewhat slow but nowhere near as bad as trying to load my portfolios on Trustnet.

I am, however, happy to wait with Trustnet because of the number of portfolios I have on the site and I appreciate that it might take some time for their computers to update everything each time.

Hargreaves Lansdown on the other hand, is very fast, but then it isn't free to view my portfolios as is the case with Trustnet.

It has slowed to about quarter-speed from when I joined. If it was that slow on first encounter, I wouldn't have stopped to read it.

Bank Holiday causing it?

More people using the site to avoid using petrol and getting stuck in a traffic jam as tradition dictates.

I've never found this site to operate quickly, but lately it has definitely got even slower.
