No criticism implied but u can tell any story u wish with hindsight charts.
SMT fact its still the same price as 2020.
Anyone who bought to hold forever is holding a lot of regret.

I'm with u as all the information in the market is available in
the chart, ten times better than wetting your finger to see which
way the winds blowing.

The chartist's prayer is allow my decision to be made on
the information laid out before and not on the opinion of
someone else which may be made for their benefit and not mine.

I'm being as honest as I can and posting my deals and performance as I go along. I'm sitting in cash for my next move. SMT I'm suggesting buy looking at my system . That's not hindsight it's today.

Infrastructure for example as there's a thread. Things might be getting better ? Buy not confirmed but you could say on the radar . INFR ETF

I might have mis-understood your system, correct me if I'm wrong
It's a buy if the price crosses above the 5day sma
and a close if it retraces back below.
That' a lot of failed trades.

Wave here. Lads what's going on.? My deals will get lost in the dust !! Ordinary lad who left school with 4 o levels. Luckily one was maths . Worked in a factory and managed to learn a bit about the markets thanks to Mrs T and her privatisations . Bought myself a computer , you know one of those tea chest things, and stuck it in the spare room. Broker started trading online so I joined up. Stumbled on the charts and the rest is history. Right or wrong that's what I do.
Now then since SMT has just been mentioned let's have a look. Monthly chart for a long term buy. November 2021 price breaks through orange MA. Indicators all negative within weeks anywhere between 1500-1300. November 2023 all indicators turn positive around 700p . Good stuff . You can only try with the tea leaves . Better than catching a falling knife.

Anyway back to the long term set up. Nothings perfect . There's three alerts on the chart and as it's a monthly timeframe it's smoothed out. IT'S A 5 YEAR CHART . The 5 month MA in orange is one where ideally price should be above. Broke below September 2022 at 2700. At 2700 the MACD crossover blue is below red so that's another alert gone. MACD histogram is also below zero. All three are heading south by November at 2600. That's SELL long term which might only last months.
Today we have price above the orange MA. One positive but not confirmed as MACD is still blue below red and histogram is still below zero. Note histogram has been creeping up since it's low in November so within weeks we should see if it also confirms. When all three confirm then we BUY. You can only try.

5 year view of PSN . Look at NOV 2023 all three indicators are positive around 1200p. NOV 2021 they all turned negative around 2600p. What's not to like and we've got a guide . Hope it helps.

SMT again. All three negative NOV 2021 and now all three positive NOV 2023. Price above MA in orange. Blue crossover above red and MACD histogram above zero. So BUY confirmed NOV 2023.

SMT chart
Not going up since it reacted to the Tesla news and could be
profit taking after the Santa rally.
Watching brief for me but it takes two opposing views to form a market.

Now once we get confirmation on the long term chart I switch to the daily timeframe to trade short term. Investors wishing to hold long term term can trade from the 5 year chart and ignore short term..

Global tracker long term chart VWRL all three indicators positive. HOLD as nothing broken.

As I mentioned to you in another thread yesterday . Long term 5 year DEC chart . All three alerts negative yet some are attempting to buy. Discount to NAV. It's not for me when every indicator is still falling. Give it time to turn. Better to be happy. Hope you are grasping what I'm saying . Thanks for showing an interest.

Dear Beavis and Butt-Head

On page 7 of this thread Big Boy posted something that I wished to reply to and I did so this morning

It's how forums work (usually)

And maybe learn how to post a chart or something

Might break up the monotony
