Just Bt a further 2/- shares at £28.00….seems a good trading range …..buy/increase on 30% plus discount and sell/reduce about 25% discount. (Bt 10/- Hansa A on above average discount)

Pershing Square Holdings, Ltd. Announces Increase to Quarterly Dividend

Tue, 29th Mar 2022 07:00

Pershing Square Holdings, Ltd. (LN:PSH) (LN:PSHD) (NA:PSH) (the “Company”) today announced that beginning with the second quarter dividend and for the remainder of the calendar year 2022, the Company will increase its quarterly dividend by 25% to $0.125 per share.

The Company’s intended policy in future years will be to pay quarterly dividends in an amount determined by multiplying the average PSH NAV of all trading days in December of the prior year by 0.25%, subject to a cap whereby the total dividends paid for the year is not to exceed 125% of the average of the total dividends paid in each of the previous three years. Once the dividend is set for a specific year, we do not intend to decrease it from that level even in the event that NAV were to decline in a future year.1

“Pershing Square Holdings’ goal is to maximize its long-term compound annual rate of growth in Net Asset Value per share. Our new dividend policy will allow shareholders to receive quarterly distributions that will increase over time as we achieve this objective,” said Anne Farlow, Chairman of the Board.

"I guess another tactic to try and encourage the discount to close."

I always find this a bit of an odd one, paying dividends to close a discount, for a trust that isn't really sold on it's income potential, but is more of a growth/manager play. If it works though I'll take it!

Appreciate the forum keeping fishing out data and news on this one, thanks all.

This must be the most complex dividend policy I've seen, typical of a hedge fund manager I suppose.

Is it really that complex?

I read it as:
- Every 1st January, work out the average NAV for the December just passed

- The dividend for the coming year is 1% of that NAV, paid out in 4 equal instalments of 0.25%

- It's fixed in cash on 1st January, so you know exactly what you're getting for the whole year in advance

- The increase is capped, so it can't be more than 25% up vs. the average of the previous 3 years

- On the downside though you can cop it for the full amount of any decrease
