As I've said there are many determined to stamp their feet and try to cause failure so they can say 'told you so'. Even if that means poorer lives for their constituents.

Aren't you pleased at this prospect of increased positive co-operation? ...or are you in the group that wants the relationship with the EU to be sour in the hope of re-joining at any cost? Genuine question as to how you stand on that...😉 Are you polarised like Farage or pragmatic like Gove and Lammy?

One mourns for a decent barista or a "can do" Polish plasterer working on stilts but we get on with it: Remainers cannot be victims, that is the domain of Leavers.

It makes me laugh when I read that I cause your failure. Are you unlucky at chess, too?

Sums up the effete nature of the average remoan tantrum thrower.

"Oh it's so hard finding people to make my coffee" 😂

Surprised you didn't mention having your toilet cleaned by an immigrant.

I had my house fully plastered recently by an English father and son company who did a brilliant job at a great price. I had rendering done by some Polish lads who also did a brilliant job. Despite Brexit.

Might be different where you live. We all know that Sadiq's demented, socialist policies are making it very difficult for tradesmen to operate in the capital. Perhaps another case of people confusing the reasons for things and being too feeble minded to question the tripe they read in the papers?

Good, excellent.

Eventually the wheels begin to turn again and everyone stops folding their arms and huffing about everything. There is some apparent progress on Northern Ireland too it seems.

It's good if all parties are now willing to work for the UK rather than against it.

Funny... a few years ago this sort of thing (the summit) would have been decried as a "sell out" of Brexit... the establishment attempting a stitch-up leading inexorably to the dreaded BRINO. And yet here you chaps are now positively celebrating that prospect. Fascinating.

I see Farage is sticking to the hard-core line WRT this summit:

Well yes... demagogues like Farage and the ERG having a hissy fit at the slightest sign of any backsliding. But their influence seems to be greatly diminished now everyone can see what a crock they've lumbered us with.

How is Farage a demagogue?

Send the army in?

There are gaps on the shelves and real shortages of essentials like fontina, ghee and crystallised ginger in many areas, of real concern to readers of my paper. Not to mention queues at the car wash.

To the other point, Are you unlucky at chess?

LOL really?

I guess you aren't including France, Belgium, Germany and even Sweden in that group then.

All have had mass rioting related to refugees and asylum seekers.

Maybe you've decided to blank those from your mind?

Let me refresh your memory...

Robert D is the ultimate Little Englander. Obviously not well travelled at all, his knowledge of the outside world is informed by what self loathing, left wing demagogues write and broadcast. The only difference between him and the usual Little Englander is that he is in the unhappy position of hating the place he is from.

The grown up questions are harder to answer. Courage is needed to ask them, maturity and intelligence needed to answer them well. Sadly, we don't really have many grown ups. Not amongst the general population, and certainly not in the governing classes. Not just here, but elsewhere in the world, despite what Robert D thinks.

Of course, the middle class hand wringers such as Tim D, who live on the northern fringes of Scotland and in other safe havens well away from migrant centres, who haven't taken any refugees into their own homes, shake their heads from afar. But like those New England folk who Ron De Santis sent a few coachloads to... their attitudes may prove to be fickle - although they'll have their rationalisations, which work for them.

About time this thread stopped, it is not grown-up nor dispassionate, but embarrassing.

Once labour gets in to govern, they will get stuck trying to get a better brexit as most of them don't believe in brexit anyways, unfortunately it will do what it did to the conservative party and destroy it from within as passions run high with this. Wow, can't wait.

I agree but

May I ask, what will happen to the forward facing scenario of the country heading towards a great fall and with a landing made up of excrement of a wide variety created by politicians from all spheres. Or is that not really an issue.

Sounds a lot like 'Cancel Culture' at work.

It's his feelings. He feels embarrassed. Or something.
