Amazing that a IT can trade on a 30% discount when majority / near all of its holdings are of publicly listed companies.

Remember it’s a controlled Trust ..

so is Brunner and that is on a premium...

Market conditions are perfect for discount narrowing. I am surprised it hasn't moved yet. Believe the coming week could be really good. We are lucky to have access to these companies and trusts that are not efficiently priced.

'Opportunistic hedging strategies' is the phrase causing the discount, the fear that Ackman may blow up the portfolio. If he committed to running PSH as a long only equity fund the discount will narrow. Brunner, by comparison, is a widely diversified global trust (by geography and sector). The reason for RCP's discount is that nobody knows what the trust is invested in.

Well said…..Hopefully many of our Members are beginning to understand what I have been banging on about.
Discounts not only offer value but assist in predicting the future.

I accept that skill and knowledge are needed to fully benefit..

It’s interesting how many Members are being attracted to discounts…

Probably the greatest level of uncertainty there's been prior to China opening it's borders and the Berlin Wall coming down. The factors that created the boom years have seemingly all gone into reverse gear.

Is the boom fuelled by money supply? Then it can keep going until the next issue such as the US debt in December and then it's boom again. No real bust in sight, but there never is right? Thrugelmir you are likely to underperform in value for the next few months until one day...

Continued from transactions thread...

Bill Ackman has expressed his intention to move PSH from Amsterdam to the US:
https://www.msn.com/en-u...-that-right/ar-AA1tNI3X

He mentioned that he plans to seek approval from the board to eliminate PSH's listing on the Euronext Amsterdam exchange:
https://ca.finance.yahoo...43890.html?guccounter=1

He believes that concentrating the listing on a single exchange, such as the LSE, and moving the domicile to the US would offer significant benefits, including improved liquidity and cost savings... I suspect Trumps corporation TAX cut may also help.
