The on line has become our Wild West, where you get shot down if you do not agree with the views of some other users

In some cases it is the Wild West in real life as for example Jo Cox, even though immigration has not been shown to be excessive. In fact facts suggest that with falling net migration we are going economically the wrong way. I recognize that there are social effects, but then with current technology changes we should try to adapt to them.

I think your agenda all along has been to poke certain people with a stick and see what happens.

Election funding does appear to make a difference. Not only are the Conservatives targeting voters on line, but also through individual telephone calls, so I am advised.

Whereas Labour are targeting those on investor boards?

Give up already.

The only interesting thing about this is that some respected posters treated it seriously and answered and, I guess, a kind of Asch Conformity Study effect followed for a while where others thought there must be something more to it even though it looked dodgy from the first post.

Well Professor, I'm afraid that it is my belief that your boys, ( you refer to them as students I believe) come Thursday, are ( as I recall someone famously saying) going to take one hell of a beating.
I am convinced that the polls (again) are off the mark, and that the media exacerbate this with their customary devilment, and that the Corbyn / Abbott double act will get its just deserts. How anyone could even contemplate placing their prospects in the hands of the likes of those 2 beggars belief.

Only those who believe the bribery to be true or have a chip on their shoulder are likely to vote for them. Turkeys and Christmas.......!

If you follow the news Betty, you'll know Diane Abbott has been dumped as potential Home Secretary. I agree, she was a embarrassing liability even for the Labour party. My main gripe about Corbyn was his friendship with Gerry Adams, but now I find there is a real life IRA terrorist representing The Conservative Party in Croydon. Maria Gatland is her name, look her up. She is famously quoted as saying not enough British soldiers were killed in the troubles. Conservatives eh !

Outside this tiny enclave, you face bullying, harassment, shaming and censorship for even being tolerant of conservative views.

Which is why there's this recent trend for polling to swing left, and vote results to swing right (in the public space, we're all self-censoring).

When the country voted for Brexit, social media became awash with quite violent ageist rhetoric, a lot of anti-white rhetoric, and even a lot of anti-outside-London rhetoric – which all seems to be acceptable to technology companies, advertisers and friends and family, so long as it's on the 'correct' side of the debate. Which is a worrying trend – and I don't think fund raising begins to ameliorate these effects.

I have just watched The BBC Last (youth) debate.
As always I was impressed by our young people, much more so than some of the comments in a few of the posts. I recommend that if you have not listened nor watched it, you try and do so, to find out what their concerns are.
As regards turkeys for Christmas, wait for the outcome.
Only to-day Prof Hawking advised that he would be voting Labour. A number of young people intend to as well. They are well pleased to have him on board on this one.
